The Mitchell Public Library has announced the availability of Baker & Taylor's Axis 360 digital media library for its patrons.
Axis 360 is a revolutionary digital media platform, providing libraries and their patrons with a state-of-the-art system for circulating enhanced digital content and Blio, the ground-breaking e-reading software.
Jackie Hess, library director, says that by adding Axis 360 to the library's overall collection, it gives patrons an additional resource for checking out e-books. Patrons also have the option of writing a review or comment on the books. Axis 360 titles are only available to Mitchell Public Library patrons. There are currently 361 titles with more added each month.
The Mitchell Public Library, as of 2012, has a circulation of 362,996 volumes with 8,939 patrons. The library provides free Internet to anyone who signs a policy agreement. A copier is provided for public use. Interlibrary loan is available for patrons wishing to borrow titles from another library. The library provides certain income tax forms free of charge.
Programming includes story time for children ages 2-5, a summer reading program for all ages and community programs as they become available.
