Mitchell man gets prison for not returning to custody after treatment
A Mitchell man was sentenced Tuesday to two and a half years in prison for the crime of escape.
Joshua Carter, 22, pleaded guilty to the charge, a felony, in November. Carter failed to return or turn himself in to law enforcement after he completed a treatment program in September.
Carter was given credit for the 105 days he has served at the Davison County Jail. He will first be eligible for parole in April, according to Judge Tim Bjorkman.
