Mitchell man gets prison for DUI, positive meth test
A Mitchell man was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison for possessing methamphetamine.
Nicholas Tischler, 26, was arrested for drunken driving in January 2012, and a blood test later revealed he had meth in his system at the time.
Tischler pleaded guilty to meth possession, a felony, and first-offense drunken driving, a misdemeanor, in August.
Tischler was given credit for the 184 days he has served in the Davison County Jail.
He was sentenced to 30 days in jail for the drunken driving charge, which he will serve concurrently, or at the same time, with the prison term for the meth charge.
Tischler will first be eligible for parole in March, according to Judge Tim Bjorkman.
