Mitchell man charged with third DUI
A 47-year-old Mitchell man was arrested July 19 after authorities allegedly found him driving with a blood alcohol content nearly twice the legal limit.
Dennis P. Bollack is charged with driving under the influence. Because it is allegedly Bollack's third DUI, the charge is a felony and he faces a maximum of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine if convicted.
A South Dakota Highway Patrol trooper stopped Bollack shortly before 2 p.m. near North Edmunds Street and Third Avenue after allegedly noticing Bollack's rear brake light was out. Upon approaching Bollack's vehicle, the trooper detected the smell of alcohol, court documents say. After performing poorly on a series of field sobriety tests, Bollack was arrested.
His blood alcohol content was allegedly 0.143 at the time of his arrest. The legal limit for driving in South Dakota is 0.08.
