Mitchell man arrested for meth possession
A Mitchell man was arrested Sept. 11 for possession of a controlled substance.
Jamie Bowen, 34, was driving on the 1200 block of North Kimball Street when a Mitchell police officer noticed his license plates were expired. After confirming the expiration, the officer pulled Bowen over.
Court documents state Bowen was jittery and would not sit still or stay in the vehicle, and Bowen gave consent to search the vehicle for illegal drugs.
The officer allegedly found an unknown substance, which tested as methamphetamine, along with prescription Fentanyl and drug paraphernalia.
The possession of meth charge carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both.
Bowen is also charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia and lacking a valid driver’s license.
