MENNO -- For the first time in seven games, the Mitchell Christian boys' basketball team came out victorious.

The Eagles snapped their seven-game skid by defeating Menno 67-56 Saturday in Menno.

Mitchell Christian jumped out to a 15-9 lead in the first quarter and never looked back.

Adam Rasmussen and Wes Vander Pol each recorded double-doubles in the win for the Eagles.

Rasmussen finished with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while Vander Pol had 16 points and 12 rebounds.

"Adam and Wes both ran up the court and played extremely well on both ends," Mitchell Christian coach Dennis Martin said. "The kids were really excited to get a (win) and things just clicked."

MCS guard Jackson Feiner scored 21 points and doled out five assists for the Eagles, who were 19-of-41 from the field.

Chet Peterson led Menno with 19 points and five steals. Dylan Lehr chipped in 10 points and seven rebounds, while Caleb Preszler added 12 points.

Mitchell Christian (3-16) hosts Wessington Springs today at Mitchell Christian School in its final regular-season game.
