Mindy Kay Rumbolz, 34, of Minneapolis, MN (formally of Ethan and Mitchell) died Monday, November 4, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Visitation will be 6:00 8:00 PM on Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Will Funeral Chapel with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be at Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Ethan, SD.

Mindy Kay Rumbolz, 34, was born February 7, 1979 in Mitchell, SD to Deb Rumbolz where she attended school. Then she moved to Ethan, SD where she attended the rest of her grade school years. At this time she developed a very close and special relationship with her grandparents, Ernest and Mary Ann Rumbolz and special friend Denny Graves, which they had contribute to her upbringing. She then attended Mitchell Sr. High her sophomore year and graduating in 1997. She attended Hennepin Technical College in MN where she earned a degree in Emergency Medical Technician and Firefighting. While attending school she became a big part of the family Dan and Polly Bowles, being a full time nanny for their four boys. In 2000 she returned home to be employed by the Mitchell Fire Dept. as a Emergency Medical Tech/Firefighter. After leaving the fire department she knew her calling, she pursue her medical career. In 2001 she attended Avera McKennan School of Emergency Medicine Paramedic. From 2002 to 2005 she was employed by Yankton County Ambulance SD as a paramedic at this time she was persistent to persue her career attending the University of South Dakota graduating in 2005 with a dual major in Biology and Psychology with a minor in Chemistry graduating 2006 from South Dakota State University with a bachelor of science nursing accelerated NACC February 2007. Mindy launched her career as a Registered Nurse in Patient Acute Neurological Physical Rehabilitation Hospital at the University of Minnesota. March of 2008 she was hired by the Park Nicollet Methodist Hospital in St. Louis Park, MN. She specialized in these fields while being employed there, as a registered nurse in the Neurological Unit Primary Stroke Center Hospital and Critical Advance Care Cardiac Unit Hospital. In January 2013 due to back surgery and health issues Mindy was forced to change her career at this time she gained employment at the University of Minnesota as a Research Coordinator Dept. of Emergency Medical. At this time she also was broadening her education by enrolling in masters level human subjects research course and the McNair Scholar with intentions to complete PhD.

Mindy was an active member in the Extra-Committees Adventures Deliruim Steering Committee and patient handling committee, she was also a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.

Mindy always enjoyed life to the fullest with family and her many friends, her friendship was forever. Mindy loved to ride horses and going to the races at the horse track and to be around any animal, she also loved kyaking, theater, music, traveling, making people laugh. She was so adventures, she would try anything once.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ernest and Mary Ann Rumbolz.

She is survived by her mother Deb and one brother Denen Rumbolz.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Mindys name.
