MHS fastpitch teams drops DH to Lincoln
SIOUX FALLS -- The Mitchell fastpitch softball team dropped a doubleheader to Sioux Falls Lincoln Tuesday.
The Kernels lost 10-3 and 11-10.
In the first game, Andrea Konz took the loss, giving up eight hits and striking out five. Hallie Misiaszek went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mitchell scored three runs on seven hits.
In the second game, Mitchell lost 11-10 in shortened game due to time.
Megan Zephier started the game and pitched three innings, allowing four hits. Konz took the loss in relief, giving up one hit and striking out three in three innings.
Mitchell trailed 9-0 at the end of the third inning. In the fourth, the Kernels scored three runs. Jenna Skinner and Jayci Hinker had back-to-back triples in the inning.
In the fifth, Mitchell recorded seven runs to score seven runs to take a 10-9 lead. But a bases-loaded two-out walk brought Lincoln's winning run across the plate in the fifth.
Skinner and Hinker were each 2-for-3 with two RBIs, while Zephier was 2-for-3 with three RBIs.
Mitchell (1-9) plays Sioux Falls O'Gorman at 6 p.m. Monday in Sioux Falls.
