Police: Mitchell man arrested for stabbing, killing person early Tuesday morning

Melodrama takes stage at Carthage

CARTHAGE -- “The Treasure of Shiver River,” the 12th annual melodrama production of the Carthage Improvement Association, will be presented at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 1, and at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, in the city auditorium, Carthage.

The play is written by Flip Kobler and Cindy Marcus. Cast members are JoDene Darnell, Kathy Faber, Travis Bornitz, Collette Anderson, Sandra Austerman, Russ Dillon, Charlie Unterbrunner, Mary Unterbrunner, Tim Nelson, Voni Durant and Nancy Bornitz.

Sound tech is Kris Magerko and Lenora Barrick handles staging. The production is directed by Lorelee Nelson.

Admission is a free will donation and pie and ice cream will be served following each performance. Storm dates are March 8 and 9.
