RAPID CITY (AP) -- A 55-year-old Florida man has been sentenced to a year of probation and ordered to pay more than $80,000 in fines and restitution for selling counterfeit goods in connection with the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

The Rapid City Journal reports Nir Giist of Ormand Beach, Fla., must pay restitution to several companies, including Monster Energy, The North Face and American Eagle.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Giist was convicted earlier of selling counterfeit T-shirts, hats, pants, shorts and other items in seven stores in western South Dakota's Black Hills, between February 2010 and August 2011.
