Man in high-speed chase identified
PRESHO -- The 50-year-old North Dakota man who fled from police in a high-speed pursuit the morning of Dec. 9 has been identified as Danny Slominski.
Slominski is being held in Brule County Jail and is charged with aggravated eluding, obstructing a law enforcement officer and possession of a controlled substance.
Lyman County Sheriff Steve Manger stopped Slominski shortly after 7 a.m. on Dec. 9 while Slominski was heading eastbound on Interstate 90 near mile marker 221, west of Presho. Slominski then fled during the traffic stop.
Slominski pulled over and gave himself up to police after nearly an hour-long pursuit, which involved authorities from Jones and Lyman counties, South Dakota Highway Patrol and the South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks.
He is scheduled to appear Monday in Lyman County Court.
