Man arrested for possession after found sleeping in mall
Police arrested a man last week for possession of a controlled substance after he was allegedly found sleeping in the entryway of the Palace Mall.
Jordan Port, 18, would not tell law enforcement why he was sleeping in the entryway. When he gave permission for an officer to search his clothing, the officer found three small pink pills, according to court documents.
Port admitted the pills were adderall, they did not belong to him and he asked a friend for the pills. Upon further search, law enforcement also found a baggie with a small amount of marijuana.
For having the pills, Port is charged with possession of a controlled substance, which carries a maximum penalty upon conviction of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
For having the marijuana, Port is charged with possession of 2 ounces or less of marijuana, a misdemeanor.
