Man arrested for assaulting girlfriend with fists, hammer
A Winner man was arrested June 1 for assaulting his girlfriend with his fists and with a hammer.
Josh Long Crow, 20, is accused of punching his girlfriend several times in the arm and leg, and going after her with a hammer. Court documents state Long Crow used the hammer to make holes in the bathroom door.
His girlfriend was 16 weeks pregnant at the time of the incident and had multiple bruises and blood on her when law enforcement arrived, according to court documents.
Long Crow resisted arrest, forcing three law enforcement officers to restrain him to handcuffs. He also is accused of assaulting two law enforcement officers. Each assault charge is a felony and punishable up to two years in prison and a $4,000 fine, if convicted.
Long Crow's girlfriend suffered multiple bruises to her arms and leg, and pain in her left hand and right thumb.
Long Crow is charged with aggravated assault, which carries a maximum penalty upon conviction of 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine. The assault on a law enforcement officer charges each carry a maximum penalty upon conviction of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
