Lower Brule man indicted for assault with weapon
LOWER BRULE -- A Lower Brule man pleaded not guilty to an indictment of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Colin Colombe, 39, was indicted on Aug. 21. He appeared before U.S. Magistrate Judge Mark A. Moreno on Wednesday.
The maximum penalty upon conviction is 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine or both, three years of supervised release, an additional two years of supervised release upon revocation, and a mandatory $100 special assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
The indictment alleges that on June 25, Colombe assaulted two individuals by hitting and kicking them with shod feet with intent to do bodily harm.
Colombe was released on bond pending trial, for which a date has not been set.
