LETTER: Time to defund Obamacare

To the Editor:

In the beginning of the United States of America, Thomas Jefferson believed "The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time."

From that belief, Mr. Jefferson authored the Declaration of Independence, declaring it to be self-evident that each human being is given, by God, the equal rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; that is, no human being or plurality of human beings can force his or their wills upon any other human being or plurality of human beings.

Subsequently, the people of the United States of America elected representatives to establish a Constitution to create guidelines to protect the people from domestic or foreign invasion, to regulate interstate and international commerce and to develop laws to protect the people from infringing upon each other's rights. To insure the elected representatives would exercise the will of the people with utmost integrity, morals and principles in implementing the Constitution, the people bound the representatives with the chains of an oath: "I do solemnly swear (or affirm) ... to support and defend the Constitution ... bear true faith and allegiance to the same ... and will well and truthfully discharge the duties of the office ... so help me God."

Therefore, each and every current Senator and House member, bound by their oaths, have an obligation to defund and end Obamacare, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, immediately. The day the act was signed into law it was unconstitutional, leaving it null and void, as it repeatedly violated each human being's rights.
