LETTER: Obamacare approved by every gov’t branch
To the Editor:
In a letter titled, “Shutdown was president’s fault,” Charles Haan contends that Obamacare is unconstitutional. He wrote, “In the shutdown matter, the House had appropriated funding for all the government except for Obamacare. President Obama refused to accept the funds so he could shut down the government to use the shutdown to coerce, bribe or force Congress to fund his unconstitutional Obamacare.”
Daniel Patrick Moynihan is credited for a renowned quote that seems appropriate here. “You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.” How can a law that was passed by both Houses of Congress, signed by the president and affirmed by the Supreme Court be unconstitutional?
