LETTER: Obama will try to take everyone’s guns away
To the Editor:
Democrats, Republicans and independents alike are in the greatest danger. The potential for loss of personal, economic freedom and constitutional rights is almost beyond calculation.
While campaigning in 2008, Obama said repeatedly, “I’m not going to take your guns away.” What he obviously meant was, “not right away.” MSNBC, CBS, etc., won’t tell us, but as an Illinois state senator, Obama voted consistently against gun owner’s rights. He has not changed. On his website, he knew he had lied to 90 million gun owners when he electronically touted his plan “to revive the gun ban and make it permanent.”
Tough, two-fisted, decent South Dakota gun owners can rise in righteous indignation and say “Nobody’s going to take my guns.” Patriotically spoken, friends. But you will do well to understand your loss of gun rights comes not from someone knocking on your door and demanding your rifle and handgun. It will come from the intentional hand of a crafty president who remarked that he has a telephone and a pen. We understand his power of executive order. And by resisting an executive order, you may become an automatic lawbreaker.
Without a vote by Congress, Obama, by executive orders, can restrict importation of gun kinds and sizes, fi rearms shows and displays, ammo availability, proximity of gun stores to schools, transfer of guns, gun registration, etc.
Gun owners — your greatest enemy can take your guns without touching one. Democrat friends, join the NRA to help provide the only strong deterrent to our gun foe in the White House.
Prior to 1939, German Jews registered their guns, then had them taken by the Nazis. You know the story. Obama is not to be trusted.
