LETTER: Mitchell's generosity shows in campaign
To The Editor:
The Mitchell Area United Way board of directors would like to thank the many people whose giving made our 31st campaign an overwhelming success. This year, we set an ambitious goal of $425,000 to support the 30 agencies who receive funding through your United Way. Due to the generosity of so many, we surpassed our goal, with slightly more than $437,000 in direct giving and pledges. The board of directors will be allocating the additional funds received to further agency work in our community.
It is a pleasure to live and work in a community of individuals and businesses so generous in supporting their neighbors in need. It is not surprising to us that Mitchell has been identified as one of the top 50 communities in the United States in per capita United Way giving.
Thank you again for your support.
Terry Torgerson, president
Ryan Huber is campaign chair and Pat Essig is campaign vice chair of the
Mitchell Area United Way.
