LETTER: Don’t send message to D.C., send Rhoden
To the Editor:
You’re kidding yourself if you think anybody in Washington cares about any messages you’re trying to send with your vote. Why send a message, when you can send a conservative Republican senator instead?
There are two candidates, and only two, who can beat the Democrats and go on to represent us in Washington: Rhoden and Rounds. And if you want to send the most conservative one, you have to go with Rhoden. Both candidates have long records leading a very conservative state, so it’s not surprising they voted for the same budgets year after year. I served with both of them in the Legislature, and when it came to cutting taxes and spending, Larry Rhoden was more persistent and persuasive.
When it came to defending innocent life, gun rights and private property, Larry was more dedicated. If you use your vote to send Washington a message, it’s going to come back undelivered. If you use it to send Rhoden, you’re going to get results.
