Lemon, Nelson break school records
MILLER -- Two Mitchell Christian track and field athletes broke their own school records Friday at the Warbird Invitational.
Senior Aaron Lemon set the 400-meter and 800-meter marks, while junior Chandler Nelson broke the shot put record. Nelson recorded a throw of 51 feet, 6.5 inches to win the shot put Friday.
Lemon, who had major knee surgery in June, won the 400 with a time of 51.13 seconds and took second in the 800 with a time of 2:02.07.
"He has really done well as far as being competitive," Mitchell Christian track and field coach Bob Lemon said. "It's nice to see him have some success after sitting out for most of the year athletically because of restrictions."
Mitchell Christian's next action is the Custer Battlefield Highway Conference meet Wednesday in Kimball.
