Leaky roof shuts down Ipswich post office
IPSWICH (AP) -- The post office in the northeastern South Dakota town of Ipswich has been temporarily closed because of a leaky roof.
U.S. Postal Service spokeswoman Karen Fredrickson tells the American News that operations were suspended because the leaking roof was a safety hazard for both customers and employees.
An inspection crew from Denver will determine the extent of the roof damage and whether there is any mold in the building. Mail services are being moved to Aberdeen, about a half hour away.
About 1,000 people live in Ipswich.
