Leader of downtown advocacy group resigns
Mitchell Main Street & Beyond Executive Director Molly Goldsmith has announced her resignation.
Goldsmith was the executive director for MMS&B for more than three years. Goldsmith's final day with MMS&B will be June 30.
"I've enjoyed my time with Mitchell Main Street & Beyond and I look forward to seeing the continued revitalization of downtown Mitchell," Goldsmith said.
Carrie Culhane (English), former MMS&B Board of Directors president and past MMS&B executive director, was appointed as the part-time interim executive director.
Jeff Logan, a founding member of MMS&B and past president, has stepped back into the role of board president to replace Culhane. Logan was on the hiring committee more than five years ago when Culhane was first hired as director. He said a full-time executive director will eventually be hired.
Mitchell Main Street & Beyond will continue to focus on its downtown revitalization plans and upcoming events and promotions.
Starting July 1, MMS&B's office hours will be adjusted on an as-needed basis. Marketing & Promotions Coordinator Jennifer Jungwirth will be assuming more duties.
Mitchell Main Street & Beyond has been in existence since 2007. Its mission is to maximize the economic potential and to preserve the heritage and sense of place in Mitchell's historic commercial district by utilizing the Main Street Four-Point approach in emphasizing economic development within the context of historic preservation.
