Lead to recount votes on indoor rec center funding
LEAD (AP) — A petition submitted to city of Lead officials has prompted a recount on a vote that cut city funding for the town's only indoor recreation facility.
The Black Hills Pioneer reports that about one in four of Lead's 2,037 registered voters turned out for the Nov. 5 election. Of those, 273 voted to cut future funding for the Handley Center, and 269 voted to continue paying for it.
The recount is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday at city hall. The public is invited to attend.
