Law creates vicious, no-win cycle for some
To the Editor:
I visited with a young man this past week that felt quite helpless because of the law that makes it impossible to do what he needs and wants to do.
He was out of work for some time and got behind in his child support. Now he has a job, but can’t get a driver’s license because he got behind on child support. He needs a car to get to his job, get groceries, go to the doctor, the dentist, pay rent, etc. Putting him in jail is no answer, either.
This is a vicious cycle that is a no-win for anyone. There must be some other way to help, as I am sure there are many others backed into a situation like this.
