Kyle Art Institute receives USDA grant
Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack announced Monday that the United States Department of Agriculture is providing support to Native American communities in 18 states -- including South Dakota -- to help tribal business and create jobs.
In South Dakota, Cloud Horse Art Institute based in Kyle is the recipient of a $99,000 grant that will provide technical assistance and training on producing professional media products.
The funding is from USDA's Rural Business Enterprise Grant program, which promotes the development of small and emerging businesses in rural areas.
Rural Business Enterprise Grants also may be used to help fund distance learning networks and employment-related adult education programs. Eligible applicants include local governments, nonprofit corporations and federally recognized Indian Tribes.
