SIOUX FALLS (AP) — A Sioux Falls television news director says the response has been positive for an anchor who responded on air to viewers who complained about storm coverage.

KSFY-TV weather anchor Shawn Cable broke into programming Sunday during the finale of ABC's "Once Upon a Time" to warn of a tornado near Hospers, Iowa.

A woman whose daughter lives on a dairy farm that was destroyed said Monday the report prompted her to call her daughter in time for the family to take shelter.

Anchor Nancy Naeve told viewers the next morning that a person's life is more important than a show — and the finale is available online.

News director Kevin King says he understands viewers' reasons for being upset but the station must keep people safe.
