Kokesh, Storley could meet today at Gregory tourney
Two of South Dakota's top wrestlers could meet in the finals of the Gregory tournament today.
Wagner's Robert Kokesh and Webster's Logan Storley have a combined six state championships in their high school careers, and presumably will make the 171-pound championship today in Gregory.
Kokesh, a senior who recently signed to the University of Nebraska, won the 160-pound state championship as a junior and the 145-pound state championship as a sophomore. Kokesh went undefeated as a junior and lost only one match as a sophomore.
Storley, a junior, has won the state championship each year for the past four years. He's on pace to match a feat only one other wrestler in the state has ever accomplished: winning the state championship six times in his high school career.
According to Kokesh, the two are "very good friends." They met during a trip at the national tournament in Virginia Beach, Va., two summers ago when they both won the tournament at their respective weight classes.
