Kernels go 1-3 over weekend
RAPID CITY -- The Mitchell High School girls' softball team went 1-3 over the weekend.
The Kernels split on Friday after beating Rapid City Stevens 5-4 and falling to Rapid City Central 12-2. Against Stevens, Andrea Konz was the winning pitcher, and Jayci Hinker and Hallie Misiaszek each went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Against Central, Madison VanWallaghen was the losing pitcher and Hinker went 2-for-3.
Saturday, Mitchell fell to Central 12-7 and Stevens 10-0. Konz took the loss in both games, while Hinker went 2-for-2 and Jenna Skinner went 2-for-3 against Central.
The Kernels host Sioux Falls Roosevelt in a doubleheader at 6 p.m. today at Cadwell Park Sports Complex.
