Stickney Kenneth Francis Titze, 70, died Monday, September 2 at his home near Stickney. Funeral service will be Friday, September 6 at 10:30 am at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stickney. Visitation will be Thursday, September 5 from 5 to 7 pm with a 7:00 pm prayer service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Stickney. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Stickney.
Kenneth Francis Titze was born February 13, 1943 to Walter and Martha (Laschette) Titze in Davison County, SD. He attended country school near the family farm and graduated from Stickney High School in 1961. He was united in marriage to Charlene Matzner on April 20, 1965 in Stickney. He entered the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. They lived in Virginia for a short time while Ken finished his military service and then moved to Mitchell, SD where he worked for UBC. In 1977, they moved to a farm near Stickney where they have lived and farmed since. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, elevator board, church council and township board and was a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, playing cars, and was a collector of toy cars and trucks, coins and clocks.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene of Stickney; 3 children: Anita Titze of Mitchell; Melissa (David) Daugaard of Garretson, SD; and Michael (Cindy) Titze of Mitchell; 6 grandchildren: Bridgette, Kristene and Lexie Daugaard and Hayden, Laney and Tegan Titze; a brother, Lennis (Sandy) Titze of Plankinton, SD; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, DeWayne; a sister in infancy, Cleo; a nephew and 3 nieces.
