Judge suspends prison sentence for Mitchell sex offender
A Mitchell man received a suspended execution of a prison sentence Tuesday for a failure to register as a sex offender conviction.
Richard Dail, 30, moved to Mitchell in September from South Carolina, where he was convicted of the offense of indecent liberty with a child. The incident involved a 15-year-old girl in 2005.
Sex offenders must register within three business days any time they move.
Judge Sean O'Brien sentenced Dail to six months in prison and suspended the execution of that sentence. Dail will be on probation for six months, pay a $300 fine, $104 in court costs and repay court appointed attorney fees.
