Josh Abbott Band to be at State Fair
HURON — The South Dakota State Fair announces the Josh Abbott Band will perform at the South Dakota State Fair on Aug. 30.
Hailing from Texas, the Josh Abbott Band formed in 2007 and has been on the rise in the country music scene ever since. Their most recent album, “Small Town Family Dream,” has climbed to No. 5 on the U.S. country charts, No. 15 on the U.S. charts and No. 2 on the U.S. indie charts.
Opening for the band, fairgoers will see Stoney Larue and Aaron Watson. Larue released his most recent album, “Velvet,” in 2011. Hits include “Oklahoma Aaron Watson has released 11 albums in his 12-year career, the most recent of which — “Real Good Time” — includes hits like “Raise Your Bottle” and “July in Cheyenne.”
Pre-sales for grandstand shows will begin June 9 for backrest holders, followed by Friends of the Fair ticket sales on June 12. General public ticket sales will begin June 16.
