Jacks win Summit League, earn trip to NCAA tourney

SIOUX FALLS -- The South Dakota State University women's basketball team secured its second-ever and second straight trip to the NCAA national tournament Tuesday when it beat top-seeded Oral Roberts 79-75 in overtime in the Summit League title game at Sioux Falls Arena.

McCook Central graduate Kristin Rotert led the Jacks with 21 points. The junior, who recorded the 1,000th point of her career in Monday's semifinal win over Western Illinois, also had six assists and six rebounds.

Former Mitchell Christian standout Jill Young had five points.

SDSU is 22-10 overall heading into the national tournament.
