Hudson man pleads guilty to third DUI
A Hudson man pleaded guilty Tuesday to third-offense drunken driving.
Chad Tesch, 31, was arrested May 8 in Davison County and charged with drunken driving. Because Tesch has been convicted of drunken driving on two prior occasions -- first in 2004 and again in 2007 -- the charge is a felony. Both of Tesch's prior convictions took place in Lincoln County.
He faces a maximum of two years in prison and a $4,000 fine.
In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to dismiss other charges and recommended he serve between 60 and 90 days in jail with work release.
Tesch's blood alcohol content was found to be 0.187 around the time of his arrest. The legal limit for driving in South Dakota is 0.08.
A presentence investigation was ordered and sentencing was set for November.
