High-speed chase near Ethan called off for safety reasons
ETHAN -- A high-speed pursuit early Saturday morning ended when a Davison County sheriff's deputy ended the chase for safety reasons.
The chase began shortly after midnight, when Davison County Sheriff's Deputy Darin Moke attempted to stop a vehicle for speeding and erratic driving near the intersection of state Highway 37 and state Highway 42, about one mile west of Ethan, according to Davison County Chief Deputy Steve Harr.
In less than 10 minutes, the chase covered 10 miles and speeds exceeded 90 mph, Harr said. The suspect eventually turned onto 267th Street, a gravel road, Harr said, and Moke decided to end the chase.
Authorities have not located the person involved in the chase and the case is still under investigation, Harr said.
