SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- The harvest of row crops in South Dakota is nearing completion after another week of warm fall weather.

The Agriculture Department says in its weekly crop and weather report that the seeding of winter wheat also is finished, and the crop could use moisture for germination.

Ninety-five percent of the state's corn crop and 93 percent of the sorghum and sunflower crops are harvested, well ahead of the average pace. Ninety-seven percent of the winter wheat crop has emerged, slightly ahead of average.

The report says the mild fall weather also has enabled cattle and sheep conditions to remain mostly in the good-to-excellent range despite dry pastures.
