The Minnesota Vikings linebacker helped to rescue Crystal and Edward Alexis on Lake Minnetonka Monday afternoon, according to a report from KARE 11-TV in Minneapolis.

The couple was gazing at houses when the steering on the boat malfunctioned. The craft began to spin in circles drifting towards rocks that lined the lake’s bank.

The 8-year NFL veteran jumped into the lake. He pulled the boat, along with both people inside, safely to shore.

“I just ran down, of course with my two little girls following behind me, trying to stay out of the way, and I figured I’d help them out. It looked like it was dangerous,” Greenway told KARE 11-TV.

Greenway also made sure the boat was secured and would be able to be towed safely.
