The Mitchell Area Community Theatre musical “Grease” opens tonight, and will run Saturday, Sunday and Aug. 9, 10 and 11 at the Pepsi-Cola Theatre in Mitchell. Performances today, Saturday, and Aug. 9 and 10 are at 7:30 p.m., while Sunday and Aug. 11’s performances are at 2 p.m. Tickets are $12 or $14, depending on seats, and available at the ACT at 996-9137.

Show director Jessica Phillips said other than giving the costumes a slightly updated, more modern look than some versions, the play will stay true to what fans of the play and movie know and love.

“It’s so iconic, we wanted to stick with what people know,” she said. “It’s a lot of fun.”
