Glad you asked: Where can clothes be donated in Mitchell?

Q: I’ve started spring cleaning, and I have a bunch of old clothes that could be donated. Where can I do this in Mitchell?

A: There are at least six organizations that accept clothing donations -- Mitchell Area Safehouse, RSVP Thrift Store, Goodwill, The Salvation Army, YWCA and Abbott House. Donations can be dropped off at:

Goodwill: 1415 W. Havens Ave. at the drive-up door on the west side of the building, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The Salvation Army: 724 N. Sanborn Blvd, at the door on the northwest side of the building 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Summer hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Abbott House: 909 Court Merrill St. Use the front door under the green canopy between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Mitchell Area Safehouse: 1809 N. Wisconsin St., Monday through Friday, please call ahead at 996-2765.

RSVP Thrift Store: 512 N. Main St., in the bin south of the store, or in the store during business hours, which are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.

YWCA: 1109 N. Main St., accepts donations of clothing for women and children from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
