Fundraiser slated for Rapid City children hurt in bus crash
RAPID CITY (AP) — A fundraiser has been organized to help pay medical bills for two children hit by a vehicle while boarding their school bus.
The Rapid City Journal reports 10-year-old Christopher Iliff and 7-year-old Ella Ovits suffered serious injuries in the Sept. 25 incident.
Pennington County authorities say the children were injured when a sport utility vehicle collided with a Rapid City school bus and then hit them.
A 17-year-old student who was driving the SUV was also taken to the hospital.
The fundraiser for the two children is slated for Oct. 25 at the Knollwood Elementary cafeteria. It will include a chili dinner, Bingo game and silent auction.
