Lemon signs for soccer, track and field at Northwestern
Lemon, a 6-0 goalkeeper, had played five years for the Mitchell Christian High School soccer team and is a two-time all-state selection.
In track, he qualified for the state meet where he finished fourth the last two seasons. He has personal bests of 53.3 seconds in the 400-meter dash and 2:02.33 in the 800-meter dash.
Young, Budahl earn all-Summit League honors

Two South Dakota State swimmers and Mitchell natives Andee Budahl and Trina Young earned all-Summit League honors for their efforts at the championships over the weekend.
Budahl, a senior, was named all-league in three events — 800 freestyle relay, 400 IM and 200 butterfly. Young was named all-conference in the 200 butterfly.
In total, there were nine women and eight men to earn the accolade for the Jackrabbits.
USD women edge NDSU in overtimeBy The Daily RepublicVERMILLION — The University of South Dakota women’s basketball team edged North Dakota State University in a 95-87 overtime victory Thursday for another Summit League win.
The Coyotes (16-12, 7-6 Summit) were led by Polly Harrington with 23 points, Nicole Seekamp and Margaret McCloud with 16 points apiece and Tia Hemiller with 14 points and 10 rebounds. McCloud also brought down 11 rebounds for a double-double.
USD was 30-of-67 from the field and 32-of-39 from the line.
NDSU’s Holly Johnson and Marena Whittle each finished with 31 points and eight rebounds. Johnson hit a 3-pointer at the end of regulation to force the extra period.
SDSU men defeat Denver 78-69BROOKINGS (AP) — Brayden Carlson scored 22 points and Jordan Dykstra added 19 as South Dakota State defeated Denver 78-69 on Thursday night.
Dykstra, in grabbing eight rebounds, became the third Jackrabbit in SDSU history to surpass 1,500 points and 800 rebounds in his career.
Cody Larson added 16 points for SDSU (17-11, 9-4 Summit League) while Chad White added 11 points and Jake Bittle a career-high 11 rebounds.
SDSU is tied with IPFW for second place with one regular-season game remaining.
NDSU routs USD to cinch titleFARGO, N.D. (AP) — Taylor Braun scored 15 points and pulled down 12 rebounds as North Dakota State clinched the Summit League title with an 82-54 blowout over South Dakota on Thursday night.
North Dakota State (22-6, 11-2) never trailed, opening the game with a 24-3 run en route to a 36-15 advantage at the break, and then continued to pull away in the second half. The Bison needed just one win in their final two regular season games this week to cinch the regular-season conference title and earn a bye through quarterfinals of the Summit League tournament.
SDSU women defeat DenverBy The Daily RepublicDENVER — Megan Waytashek scored 17 points to lift the South Dakota State University women’s basketball team past the University of Denver 69-55 Thursday.
Steph Paluch had 12 points and Mariah Clarin and Chynna Stevens each added 11 for the Jacks (21-8, 12-1 Summit). Mitchell native and freshman Kerri Young had three points, three rebounds and four assists.
Kailey Edwards led Denver (6-22, 4-9 Summit) with a team-best 14 points.
SDSU plays at the University of South Dakota in its final game of the regular season at 2 p.m. Sunday in Vermillion.
