MABC meeting to be held Monday

There is a Mitchell Athletic Booster Club meeting Monday at the Mitchell High School library.

The meeting is set for 5:30 p.m. and everyone is welcome to attend.

DWU baseball opener canceled

The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team was scheduled to play back-to-back doubleheaders this weekend to start the season, but all four games have been canceled.

The Tigers were set play Southwest Minnesota State University at Pittsburg, Kan. DWU’s first game of the season is Feb. 22 against Kansas Wesleyan in Wichita, Kan.

Marlin girls fall 7-2 to Lakers

The Mitchell Marlin girls’ varsity hockey team fell 7-2 to the Watertown Lakers Friday at the Mitchell Activities Center.

Kayla Murtha and Jacey Brunsen each scored a goal for the Marlins, while Kylie Barington picked up two assists. Tiadra Simmermon made 21 saves and gave up seven goals.

Watertown’s Kaitlyn Muhl, Stephanie Kasten and Tara Hamann each had two goals.

Mitchell (1-15) hosts Watertown again today at 2 p.m.
