Fink nets 21 points to beat Wagner

WAGNER -- Adam Fink scored a game-high 21 points to lead Tripp-Delmont/Armour over Wagner 45-40 in a boys' basketball game Monday.

Fink also had 11 rebounds for the Nighthawks. Trevor Payer scored 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour shot 16-of 32 from the field and 11-of-18 from the free-throw line. The Nighthawks had 28 team rebounds and six turnovers.

Branson Tolliver and Jack Robinson each scored 13 points for Wagner. Noah St. Pierre scored nine points. Tyler Krcil had six rebounds.

The Red Raiders shot 18-of-51 from the field and 2-of-8 from the free-throw line. The team had 17 rebounds and eight turnovers.

Tripp-Delmont/Armour is 10-3 and hosts South Central Friday in Tripp. Wagner is 6-5 and hosts Scotland Thursday.

Wagner won the junior varsity game 42-28.

Beresford 59, Marion 36

BERESFORD -- Beresford picked up its second win for the season with a 59-36 win over Marion Monday.

Austin Carlson scored 14 points for Beresford. Trevor Anderson scored 11 points.

Beresford shot 23-of-56 from the field and 8-of-11 from the free-throw line. The Watchdogs had 29 rebounds and 12 turnovers.

Jacob Wuertz was the leading scorer for Marion with 17 points. Weurtz also had 10 rebounds. Nick Gortmaker scored 14 points. Joey Pessia had nine rebounds.

Marion shot 15-of-46 from the field and 4-of-12 from the free-throw line. The Bears had 34 total team rebounds and 26 turnovers.

Beresford is 2-10 and plays at Vermillion Jan. 31. Marion is 1-10 and hosts Irene-Wakonda today.

Marty Indian 60, Avon 48

MARTY -- Marty Indian improved to 5-2 with a 60-48 win over Avon (7-5) Monday.

Armando Iron Elk scored 21 points for the Braves Damon Shields had 10 rebounds.

Marty Indian shot 26-of-73 for 36 percent from the field and 5-of-10 for 50 percent from the free-throw line. The team had 33 total rebounds and 16 turnovers.

Luke Van Gerpen scored 20 points for Avon. John Wynia scored 16 points.

The Pirates shot 19-of-42 for 45 percent from the field and 8-of-11 for 73 percent from the free-throw line. Avon had 26 team rebounds and 31 turnovers.

Marty Indian plays in the Dakota Oyate Challenge Thursday in Huron. Avon hosts Gregory Thursday.

Marty Indian won the junior varsity game 33-30.

South Central 57, Colome 32

BURKE -- South Central came back from a halftime tie to defeat Colome 57-32 Monday.

Dakota Votaw scored 12 points and had five assists for the Cougars. Josh Tuttle scored nine points. Tyler Frank had four assists and five rebounds. Traven Covey also had five rebounds.

South Central shot 27 percent from the field and 63 percent from the free-throw line. The team had 30 total rebounds and nine turnovers.

Terrance Kinzer scored 11 points and had five rebounds for Colome. Jordan Nelson got five rebounds.

Colome shot 25 percent from the field and 61 percent from the free-throw line. The Cowboys had 23 team rebounds and 15 turnovers.

South Central is 5-6 and plays West Boyd, Neb., Thursday. Colome is 5-6 and plays at Plankinton today.

South Central won the junior varsity game 48-16.

Dakota Christian 48, Gregory 43

NEW HOLLAND -- Dakota Christian picked up a win over Gregory Monday.

Michael Buitenbos and Owen Medicine each scored 13 points for the Cadets. Carter Dykstra scored nine points and had nine rebounds. Micah DeWaard had seven rebounds. Jake Spoelstra had five steals and four assists.

Dakota Christian shot 25-of-38 for 66 percent from the field and 13-of-24 for 54 percent from the free-throw line. The Cadets had 22 team rebounds and 13 turnovers.

Nolyn Mikkelsen was the leading scorer for Gregory with 14 points. Mikkelsen also had eight rebounds. Andrew Taggart had eight rebounds. Jaden Bartling had six assists.

The Gorillas shot 17-of-41 for 41 percent from the field and 6-of-16 for 38 percent from the free-throw line. Gregory had 28 team rebounds and 19 turnovers.

Dakota Christian is 5-6 and hosts Freeman Thursday in New Holland. Gregory is 0-10 and plays at Avon Thursday.

Gregory won the junior varsity game 34-32.

Kimball/White Lake 49, Chamberlain 39

KIMBALL -- Kimball/White Lake picked up a win over Chamberlain 49-39 Monday.

Kelcey Long scored 15 points for Kimball/White Lake. Jill Jandreau scored 12 points and five assists. Maria Nightingale had 11 rebounds.

Kennedy Wagner scored 16 points for Chamberlain. Frankie Willard scored nine points. Corrina Reuer had eight rebounds.

Kimball/White Lake is 10-3 and plays Hanson Thursday in Alexandria. Chamberlain is 8-5 and hosts Mobridge-Pollock Friday.

Bon Homme 72, Mount Vernon 12

TYNDALL -- Raquel Sutera had a double-double in Bon Homme's 72-12 win over Mount Vernon Monday.

Sutera scored 15 points and had 14 rebounds for the Cavaliers. Tara Ronke scored a game-high 17 points. Karlee Kozak scored 11 points and Sara Burbach scored 10.

Bon Homme made 31-of-70 field goals and 9-of-11 free throws. The team had 38 total rebounds and seven turnovers.

Mikayla Weiss scored four points for Mount Vernon. Ashlee Dikoff had five rebounds.

The Fillies shot 16 percent from the field and 20 percent from the free-throw line. Mount Vernon had 19 team rebounds and 29 turnovers.

Bon Homme is 9-5 and hosts Andes Central Thursday in Tyndall. Mount Vernon is 0-12 and hosts James Valley Christian Thursday.

Bon Homme won the junior varsity game 45-13.

McCook Central/Montrose 69, Freeman 54

FREEMAN -- Katie Binder scored 18 points as McCook Central/Montrose defeated Freeman 69-54 Monday.

Kelly Binder scored 15 points and had six rebounds for the Fighting Cougars. Dana Kirbery scored 10 points. Natasha Krempges had seven rebounds and Jean Skoglund had six.

McCook Central/Montrose shot 32-of-51 from the field for 63 percent and 11-of-19 for 58 percent from the free-throw line. The team had 34 rebounds and 15 turnovers.

Dina Soulek scored 17 points for Freeman. Paige Herrboldt scored 14 points and had five assists. Kaitlyn Stern scored 10 points.

The Flyers shot 17-of-66 for 26 percent from the field and 10-of-14 for 71 percent from the free-throw line. The team had 21 rebounds and seven turnovers.

McCook Central/Montrose is 5-7 and plays Sioux Valley in the first round of the Big East Conference tourney Thursday in Howard. Freeman is 9-4 and plays Hanson in the Cornbelt Classic Saturday in Freeman.

Freeman won the junior varsity game 29-24.

FORESTBURG -- Hanson improved to 10-3 this season with a 67-46 win over South Central/Woonsocket (9-2) Monday.

Ashley Robinson scored a game-high 30 points for Hanson. Cassidy Graham scored 15 points.

The Beaverettes shot 23-of-54 for 43 percent from the field and 17-of-25 from the free-throw line. The team had 26 rebounds and 14 turnovers.

Morgan Selland and Marissa Weber each scored 15 points for Sanborn Central/Woonsocket. Shelby Selland scored 14 points and Rachelle Moore had five assists.

Sanborn Central/Woonsocket shot 19-of-58 for 33 percent from the field and 4-of-9 from the free-throw line. The team had 25 total rebounds and 17 turnovers.

Hanson hosts Kimball/White Lake Thursday in Alexandria. Sanborn Central/Woonsocket hosts Wessington Springs Thursday in Forestburg.

Hanson also won the junior varsity game.
