Farmer native to mark 70 years as a nun
One of the 22 sisters of St. Francis of Assisi who will celebrate an anniversary of religious profession on July 27 at St. Rita Parish in West Allis, Wis., is a Farmer native.
Sister Miriam Terese (Theresa Marie G.) Yost will celebrate her 70-year anniversary of vowed religious life. She is the daughter of the late Nicholas and Kathryn (Arens) Yost, of Farmer.
Yost has spent her life serving in music ministries at all levels from kindergarten through college levels in Wisconsin, Massachusetts and California. She spent many years at St. Coletta, Jefferson, Wis., where she also directed the choir.
She holds a bachelor’s degree from Cardinal Stritch University and a master’s in music education from De Paul University in Chicago. She is now retired, but continues to volunteer at St. Coletta.
