Farm Rescue helps 50 farm families

Farm Rescue, a nonprofit organization that provides planting and harvesting assistance free of charge to farm families in the Northern Plains and Midwest who have experienced a major illness, injury or natural disaster, has finished harvesting for 2013.
The group reports it helped 50 farm families this year, for reasons including paralysis, broken bones, cancer and natural disasters.
Farm Rescue was founded in 2006 and says it has helped more than 250 families since its inception.
Farm Rescue helps farm families in North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Minnesota and Iowa. Applications are being accepted for the 2014 planting season.
