Ethan plans July 4, SD 125th activities
ETHAN — Ethan will salute South Dakota’s 125th anniversary into statehood on July 4 at the City Park, Ethan.
The celebration begins at 5 p.m. with a community potluck. Pork loin will be provided for a free-will donation. Everyone is asked to bring a side dish or dessert.
At 6 p.m., “Star Spangled Banner,” a tribute to Ethan’s past and present citizens, will be presented. It will include a speech by Lyle Swenson on the history of South Dakota and Ethan.
After the presentations and speaker, there will be games, socializing, photo booth area, scavenger hunt, chicken poop-a-palooza raffle (advance tickets available at the city office) and novelty items for sale.
The annual fi reworks display by the Ethan Fire Department will take place at dusk.
