Ethan man accused of punching, kicking child
ETHAN -- An Ethan man is accused of child abuse for punching, elbowing and kicking his child.
Michael Conrad, 41, was arrested March 13 after Ethan school officials called the Davison County Sheriff's Office about a possible child abuse case.
The victim ran to school that day, according to court documents, to tell school officials Conrad had kicked, punched and elbowed him. That morning, Conrad and his wife got into a verbal argument. The victim attempted to protect the wife, but was subsequently elbowed three times in the head, kicked when he fell on the floor and punched in the mouth, court documents say.
Conrad also slapped another juvenile victim hard on the top of the head, according to court documents.
The child abuse charge upon conviction carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
