Ethan family honored as Mount Marty College's Family of the Year
YANKTON — Mount Marty College recognized the Scheich family, of Ethan, as the 2013-14 family of the year at the college’s family weekend recently.
The Family of the Year decision takes into consideration a set of criteria, including generosity in the home community or the MMC community, commitment to Christian values, ability to touch the lives of many people, the involvement of the family with Mount Marty College and its loyalty to the instruction, and their church and civic involvement.
Len and Patti Scheich have a daughter, Johanna, who is a senior English major at Mount Marty College.
Mrs. Scheich is a phlebotomist in Mitchell, at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital, and Mr. Scheich is an anesthetist at the same facility.
Johanna is the Student Government president, a student-athlete, a member of the MMC Choir and Smooth Benediction, active in the theater department, a writer for The Moderator, and a member of numerous campus committees.
Obadiah Scheich is a pharmacist at Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls, and Emily Scheich Wischnowski is a lawyer in Omaha.
