Edna M. Weber, age 89, of Mitchell, SD died Friday, July 25, 2014 at Avera Queen of Peace Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at Holy Family Catholic Church with burial at Servicemens Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Will Funeral Chapel with a scripture service beginning at 7:00 PM.
Edna Mae Weber, daughter of Mathias and Elizabeth (Koch) Schroeder, was born in Alexandria, SD on January 29, 1925. Edna attended country school at Wayne 1. On May 29, 1946, Edna was united in marriage with Wilfrid "Hub" Weber in Alexandria, SD. The couple made their home in Mitchell, SD until 1951 when they moved to Los Alamos, NM. While in Los Alamos Edna was employed as a waitress. She retired in 1982 and Hub and Edna moved back to Mitchell in May of that year.
Edna was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Holy Family Altar Society, and a member of Catholic Foresters. Edna also enjoyed needlework, traveling and family.
Grateful for having shared her life are her sisters: Agnes (Bill) Geppert of Bridgewater, SD; Agatha (Ralph) Weber of Montrose, SD; Mary Erpenbach of Mitchell, SD; brothers John Schroeder of Alexandria, SD and Don Schroeder of Aurora, CO; sister-in-law Florence Schroeder of Brandon, SD; many nieces, nephews and extended family.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and stepmother; brothers Wilfred and Art Schroeder; sister Fran Flowerree; brother-in-law Harold Erpenbach; sisters-in-law Mary Schroeder and Ila Schroeder.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Holy Family Building Campaign.
