Eastern SD in for heavy snow and gusty winds
SIOUX FALLS (AP) — Another spring snow storm has eastern South Dakota in its sights.
The National Weather Service has issued a winter storm warning for the region from Thursday afternoon into Friday morning. Forecasters say 4-10 inches of snow are possible, with the heaviest amounts along and east of Interstate 29.
A winter weather advisory is posted for the James River Valley, with 1-4 inches of snow expected.
Winds gusting to 35 mph are expected to blow the snow around and reduce visibilities in some areas to less than half a mile.
It will be the second storm this week. A system that passed through the state late Sunday into early Tuesday dumped several inches of snow in western and northeastern South Dakota.
