Eagle Butte woman pleads guilty to assaulting fed officer

SIOUX FALLS (AP) -- An Eagle Butte woman accused of cutting a federal officer with a knife on the Cheyenne River Indian Reservation has pleaded guilty.

Forty-five-year-old Pamela Garreau was accused of swinging the knife and cutting the officer after relatives had called authorities to her home in June 2010.

U.S. Attorney Brendan Johnson says Garreau faces up to eight years in prison when she is sentenced May 14 on the charge of assaulting, resisting or impeding a federal officer.
